Our Story
Foster Care Community
Moved by the stories of friends and family who fostered — stories full of heartache, courage, resilience, and fragile yet fiercely persistent hope — and guided by their faith, close friends and TSC Co-Founders Doug Scott and Corey Wardell launched Tire Swing Collective to support the foster care community in ways they were uniquely gifted and wired to do, and in ways they hadn’t seen done before.
Importance of Spaces
Although they came from very different paths, Doug and Corey’s professional experiences taught them the same truth: spaces matter. They saw that the right environment — thoughtfully considered, designed, and cared for — can shape how people feel, function, and connect.
Something Different
Leveraging their experiences, resources, and relationships, Doug and Corey set out to do something different — something that would support foster families and also invite the broader community to meaningfully join them.
Hope & Healing
Tying those things together, Tire Swing Collective creates welcoming, trauma-informed outdoor spaces and experiences that help foster children and caregivers heal, grow, connect, and find hope. TSC also partners with organizations that support the foster care community, offering inviting places to meet, gather, and recharge. Once established in Atlanta, they look forward to expanding into other communities.

Although a Florida native, Doug has called Atlanta home for more than 30 years. He is husband to his Georgia-peach-of-a-wife, Brittany, and dad to their two adult daughters—roles he considers his first and greatest calling.
After graduating from Vanderbilt with a BA in Economics and later earning his MBA from Emory, Doug spent over 20 years in strategy consulting and sales training. In 2013, he followed a long-growing passion and calling to launch Redeem Your Ground (RYG), a landscape design firm. Through RYG, Doug partners with local installers to bring his one-of-a-kind outdoor designs to life. His family-first approach focuses on creating spaces that reflect how each client finds life and connection outside at home.
During that same season, Doug and Brittany launched a family, home, and garden blog by the same name. Their hope with RYGblog is to help people “do for themselves” through practical how-tos and inspiring stories that motivate families to live more fully at home.
Doug’s approach to landscape design has gained national attention. RYG—and his family’s story—have been featured in Southern Living and on PBS’s Growing a Greener World. Doug is also a featured writer for Monrovia and is host of Exmark’s Do-In-A-Weekend video series.
